Mcleodganj, nestled in the hills of Himachal Pradesh, has embedded Tibet and Buddhist culture within. This place, situated on the Shivalik mountains, is not less than heaven. Nature is also very much pleased with the Buddhist monasteries, beautiful plains and the beautiful weather at McLeodganj. Here in 1959, the Buddhist religious Dalai Lama came to live with his thousands of followers from Tibet. On the lines of Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, this place is called Mini Lhasa. The most famous place here is the temple of Dalai Lama and the Namgyal Monastery adjacent to it.

Bhagsu Waterfall

St. John Church

This church built near Mcleodganj is much more beautiful. It was built in the year 1852. This church was built during the time of Lord Elgin. Triund is known for trekking among tourists and climbing here is quite difficult. Before coming here, you should adapt yourself according to the season of mcleodganj. There is snow on the hills of Dhauladhar. So be prepared to face the cold before coming here. If you are very sensitive to the weather, do not make a trip here in December January. After 4 hours of continuous climbing, the Himalayas begin to appear and snow is seen everywhere. It seems that someone has covered the hill with white sheets. You can rent tents here to relax.

Dalai lama temple

The most prominent attraction here is the Dalai Lama Temple where there are statues of Shakya Muni, Avalokiteshwara and Padmasambhava. A confluence of cultures of India and Tibet is found here. Brijeshwari temple

Brijeshwari temple is one of the Shakti Peethas. It is dedicated to Maa Durga. It is said that this temple was built by the Pandavas. This temple was damaged in an earthquake in the year 1905, after which the temple is now being maintained by the government.

Minakini pass

Apart from the Triand, tourists can also trek to Minakini Pass. Its elevation is about 14250 feet above sea level. Through this trekking you can admire the mcleodganj surrounded by Dhauladhar hills.
